Before you begin. The Laurel Mountain shower kit is designed for alcove installation against framed studs. Verify the base-to-back-wall stud distance matches your wall model size (30" or 32"). Read the full Installation Guide before starting. Installation errors are a common cause of warranty issues.
Installation overview
- Frame the alcove to suit the kit’s exterior dimensions, with a 2×4 or 2×2 stringer supporting the back ledge.
- Inspect the shower base and report any damage before proceeding.
- Test-fit the base for level front-to-back and left-to-right; use shims with the support pad as needed.
- Secure the base flange to wall studs with roofing nails or drywall screws + washers, just above the tile flange.
- Install the lower back wall, upper back wall, then both side walls. Dry fit first before applying silicone.
- Pre-drill faucet holes using your valve manufacturer’s hole-saw specs.
- Apply 100% white silicone along all wall-to-wall and wall-to-base joints. Wait 24 hours before using the shower.
- Peel away the ArmorShield coating last, once all other trades are out of the bathroom.
Tools required
Electric drill with ⅛" bit and appropriate hole saw, level, square, measuring tape, Phillips screwdriver, 100% white silicone sealant, #8×1¾" panhead screws + washers, wood shims, utility knife, self-leveling cement, safety equipment.

Shipping
Shower kits ship via LTL freight. A delivery appointment will be scheduled with you before arrival. Inspect the product upon delivery before signing. Note any visible damage on the carrier’s BOL before the driver leaves.
Transit times typically run 5 to 10 business days within the continental US from ship date. Some remote areas may take longer. You’ll receive a tracking number once your kit is en route.
Returns
Because these are custom-configured (handedness + finish combinations), all sales are final once the kit has shipped. Defects covered under the Limited Lifetime Warranty. Please contact us before taking any action so we can coordinate with the manufacturer.
Installation
Professional installation is strongly recommended. Please review the Laurel Mountain Installation Guide prior to scheduling. Note: the ArmorShield coating should be pulled away from the flanges (but not fully removed) prior to install, then peeled off once the job is complete.
